Halmstad

Halmstad was in the middle of our trip (June 21st to the 27th) but I didn't get all the pictures until now. Better late than never!

In our first couple days in Halmstad we visited the beach, pottery shop (Witts Keramik), and walked around the deserted streets (midsummer brought everyone inside for drinking and singing) of Halmstad. I have had great fun learning more about my heritage and visiting sites relating to my family history.

Green brick building built by Christian IV King of Denmark (Emily and I's 11th great grandfather) for Kirsten Munk.

The beach reminded me of Oregon

Elderflower! The saft made from this is super good

Mom & Dad, does this look familar?

We went to Lars and Bodila's house the next day for lunch (thank you!). Beforehand we picked up some flowers at a little shop next to a horse pasture.

Had lunch & kaffe with the lovely Eva and Jon the other day as well. I finally got to pet a dog again (no room for Tule in my suitcase). They also had sheep and though most were fairly shy, one with a beautiful curly black coat stood there and let us pet it. When we started to walk away towards the gate he followed me for a few seconds and nudged my leg. There were some baby lambs too, though their moms were very protective over them so we could only watch them from afar. If Eva or Jon are reading this, tack så mycket! (pictures to come)
