Apologies
Sorry I didn't get to posting last night, we finished dinner by the river at 10:00pm and I was too sleepy to upload the pictures from my camera. We are leaving Stockholm this morning and driving across the country to Halmstad. Though I loved the stay at this charming little Best Western in SoFo, it will be greatly appreciated if our next hotel has actual shower curtains.
Emily is working on a post of her own on Swedish dining, but I figured since we didn't post last night I could post a little blurb regarding the subject, along with Emily's. In every restaurant we have been to, they have throws for customers dining outside the restaurant. Our restaurant last night was right next to the water and had heavier throws. I am posting the link below of the exact blanket that most restaurants have (from IKEA!). Our hotel has them as well, if you are one to bring your breakfast out into the courtyard to enjoy. Sweden is farther north, so although the weather is much like Oregon's, it's still quite a bit cooler in temperature. Restaurants (and hotels) fold blankets/throws over the chairs or place them in baskets at the door for their outdoor diners. I almost definitely won't get to posting tonight either, we will be spending the night at our cousins' house!

I like the idea of offering throws. I can think of lots of Seattle venues that might pick up on that!
ReplyDeleteOregon too! There is an IKEA by the airport back in Portland, I was thinking I would pick up a few for our dining set on the back porch. They're fairly cheap too!
