Stadshuset
Not much to say, described most of the pictures in the captions. These were all taken on our last day in Stockholm at the Stadshuset (city hall).
Back patio view at the city hall.
Largest organ in northern Europe, 10,000 pipes! Located on the ceiling in the Blue Hall. Not very blue, the room was originally going to be painted blue but the architect (statue below) decided to keep the natural red brick.
Windows with beautiful views and shadows. This room was all about reflections. The lights consisted of only 50% of the chandelier but placed against a mirror to look whole. I didn't even notice it until our tour guide pointed it out! The figures carved into the wall went along with the reflection theme as well, a woman on one side of the window and a man on the other.
The Gold room! The entirety of the walls were covered in gold mosaics. Each individual tile was only about .5 by .5cm. Two pieces of glass with a thin sheet of gold in the middle.
Three crowns, Kalmar Union?
